--Using similar pattern of fabrics in different colors looks cohesive. ( like all dots)
--Always iron interfacing to the back of your main fabric if making a wall hanging.
--Zig zag stitch looks just as good as blanket stitch
--If using a straight stitch you can either be precise and follow close to the edge or be loose and let the needle wander a a bit. This method looks awesome if you do this a couple of times around the shape. Kinda like looks like sketching when done.
