I learned this method of applique from the Australians who were here for market. I call it the Australia applique but it can also be called the glue method.
--On floriani stitch and wash fusible fiber trace your design.
--Cut out your design from fiber and iron to the back side of chosen fabric
--Cut fabric 1/4 inch out from the fusible fiber edge.
--With a fabric glue pen (sewline) glue a small portion of the edge of the fiber.
--Fold over the fabric, making sure top side of design is smooth
--continue this process all the way round the shape.
--When attaching to panel fabric use invisible thread and a small zig zag stitch on the very edge, catching only a small snippet of applique fabric.
